Overview
Our signature Kenya wildlife and beach journey. Begin in Samburu National Reserve, home of the "Samburu Special Five" — Grevy's zebra, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, Beisa oryx and Somali ostrich — species found almost nowhere else in Kenya.
Next, cross the Great Rift Valley to the Maasai Mara for three days with the Big Five, big cats on the open plains and, from July to October, the Great Migration river crossings.
Finally, fly to Diani Beach on the south coast for three days of sun, turquoise water and optional ocean excursions before your return to Nairobi. Every itinerary can be adjusted to your dates, budget and travel style.

Day-by-day itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi – drive to Samburu
Meet our team at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for a short briefing, then travel north (about 5–6 hours) through the farmland and hills of central Kenya to Samburu National Reserve. Lunch at your lodge, followed by an afternoon game drive looking for Grevy's zebra and reticulated giraffe.
Day 2: Full day in Samburu National Reserve
A full day exploring Samburu's semi-arid country and the Ewaso Ng'iro River in search of the Samburu Special Five, plus elephants, lions, leopards and cheetahs. Over 350 bird species live here. Picnic lunch in the bush.
Day 3: Samburu to the Maasai Mara
An early game drive in Samburu, then a scenic journey (about 6–7 hours) south across the Great Rift Valley to the Maasai Mara National Reserve, arriving in time for dinner.
Day 4: Maasai Mara – the Big Five
A full day on the Mara plains searching for lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino, along with cheetah, hyena, giraffe and huge herds of plains game. Picnic lunch with views across the savannah.
Day 5: Maasai Mara & the Mara River
Another full day of game viewing, including the Mara River with its hippos and crocodiles. From July to October, this is where the Great Migration crosses — one of the world's great wildlife spectacles.
Day 6: Maasai Mara – balloon safari option
Begin with an optional sunrise hot-air balloon flight and bush breakfast (extra cost), or a morning game drive. The afternoon is free to relax or visit a Maasai village to learn about local culture.
Day 7: Maasai Mara to Diani Beach
Drive back to Nairobi and take a domestic flight to Diani on Kenya's south coast. Check in to your beach resort and spend the afternoon by the pool or the Indian Ocean.
Day 8: Diani Beach at leisure
A full day to enjoy Diani's white sand and turquoise water. Optional activities include snorkelling, scuba diving, kite surfing and traditional dhow trips.
Day 9: Diani – ocean excursion option
Join an optional boat trip to Wasini Island and Kisite Marine Park for snorkelling and dolphin watching, visit the Shimba Hills National Reserve, or simply relax on the beach.
Day 10: Diani to Nairobi – departure
A final morning on the beach before your flight back to Nairobi, where we transfer you to your hotel or the airport for your onward journey.
